THE WAKEFIELD GRAND
Located at the north end of Wakefield, 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa, is The Wakefield Grand. Lovingly restored, the Grand is nestled on six acres of natural forest and ponds and makes for the perfect home away from home with your nearest and dearest.
The Wakefield Grand provides an incredible backdrop for your intimate wedding with, service and a culinary experience at the heart of the festivities!
Although we have been hosting groups as a beautiful boutique hotel for years – why weddings? Why now? Kennedy Event Planning, with whom we have partnered to create our unique and intimate wedding experiences with, first approached us with the idea for one of their clients and after doing a few, well the world came to a halt in 2020. When the pandemic started, many couples shifted their focus to small intimate weddings and found that the Wakefield Grand would provide the perfect backdrop for such an event. That is where Wakefield Grand weddings were born and we haven’t looked back since!
The building – if walls could talk the stories they could tell! Built in the 1970’s by an Austrian mason, the space has been beautifully renovated to incorporate the best of both worlds, all of the modern, classic look of a renovation while also keeping the character that makes the Grand so unique in it’s space!

OUR TEAM
Yannick
Innkeeper, Chef & Host
Yannick has been the host and Innkeeper at The Grand for the past eight years. Besides his formal education at Cite Collegiale, Yannick has also worked at the French Embassy, L’Aubergiste, and Le Belvédère as a sous chef. He spends much of his time foraging through the woods and fishing on local lakes and rivers, always returning with a new discovery. Yannick is also a passionate environmentalist and volunteer, dedicating his time to faraway locations like the jungles of the Amazon, the forests of Madagascar, and the spice fields of India. His gentle demeanor and passion for food will be on full display when he welcomes you to the Wakefield Grand.
